Mountain Page Here is where you will find information dedicated to Mountain Biking in and around Middlebury. Follow the links to the side to ride along on a few of our endeavors. |
If
you are new to the area or just want to find places to ride you can't beat
just stopping into one of our two bike shops in town to ask for directions
or find out what is happening locally.
The Alpine Shop can be reached at (802) 388-7547. The Bike Center www.bikecentermid.com can be reached at (802) 388-6666 or info@bikecentermid.com. Either shop is filled with friendly folks that can steer you to the right spots for your ability. Here is a picture of one of our members that is practicing to be a Vet. | |
Winter
is no reason to park the bikes. We ride 12 months out of the year.
With studded tires and lights we can ride most every night if we want to.
Our Wed. night group rides in the winter are always in the dark. Here
we are transporting up to Silver Lake to celebrate Brads new Giant. It
was a warm and mushy night and we took many of diggers. Billy B installing

The Club has been experimenting with the development of studded tires on the cheap

The club has been producing lighting systems for 24 racing events and using prototypes to refine the systems on their weekly night rides. This has greatly extended the amount of riding time we get in the off season and has been a great way to enjoy riding during the cool summer evenings

Most
of the club Members ski or snowboard heavily in the winter months.
This winter has been particularly kind to us. Our first real thaw
freeze occurred the 2nd weekend of Feb. Instead of bumming out we take
advantage of the excellent snow biking this weather creates. You can
go many many miles on snowmobile trails and places you could never access
in the summer. Here is the Widows Clearing Trail.
