Two of our members Jim Arnold and John Peters attended an IMBA trail building school at the Massabesic Watershed for the Town of Manchester NH.  Both members learned valuable skills during this workshop.  An existing trail needed to be rerouted due to steepness and erosion. In the picture below we are watching a bike negotiate the eroded area.  A section next to this area was chosen for a bench cut

Here the crew is beginning to mark the bench cut location and the toe of the cut.  The over burden needs to be removed to get to the stable earth

Cutting the Bench at the right inclination and with a small downhill angle for drainage.  Jeff is a native of this area and really appreciated the effort put into his back yard.

The finished trail was mulched with the leaves from the surrounding area and the original trail was covered over to start the reveg process
