Battell Woods Map - Trail Stewards - Please Log Any Concerns

Here's the Local Motion map for Battell Woods showing the main TAM trail (solid line) and the secondary trails (Dashed lines).
I ask for volunteer trail stewards (the eyes & ears to report any needed maintenance/signage) for a particular section or trail within this area. If we divide this up it will be easier.

Trail stewards: Please report any concerns in this forum for your favorite secondary or tertiary trails so that we can organize work to be done and rally folks to do the maintenance. And if you'd like to volunteer to maintain a particular section or trail for a season that would be even better.

"Northern most east-west secondary trail (connecting the TAM and the secondary loop)"

As this path has been severly eroded with loads of roots and drainage problems, a reroute is proposed just to the north on the higher ground. This reroute was discussed with MALT and roughed out by foot & flagging tape in '08 but needs to be verified for its path and finished off, closing off the old section in the process. Need someone to organize the troops and necessary tools.

I'd be happy to be responsible for the re-route. I'd like to do it ASAP, before things get really muddy again.

I would like to see the new route covered with gravel so that it doesn't erode quickly into another mud pit. I'm willing to spend lots of time pushing a wheelbarrow to get the gravel in there.

Okay you'll need to figure out how much gravel is needed for the reroute (probably just for the western end) and whether there is enough at the northern or northwestern entrances, or whether you need to ask Josh at MALT for some.
